A New President and Vice-President & Treasurer at CAF

The Culture & Animals Foundation is delighted to announce the election of Jill Howard Church (left) as CAF’s new President and Karen Regan as Vice-President & Treasurer.

Jill brings a wealth of experience to the job, having worked at PETA, the Animals & Society Institute, and the AAVS. She was the former senior editor of The Animals’ Agenda magazine, and served as coordinator of CAF’s International Compassionate Living Festival from 2004 to 2009. Jill takes over as President from Mia MacDonald, who will remain on CAF’s board. Mia says: “Jill is phenomenally well-organized, creative, and very committed to the cause of animal rights. She is an excellent choice to head the organization as it expands and looks to develop its programs.”

In a welcome continuity with CAF’s late co-founders, Tom and Nancy Regan, their daughter Karen Regan takes over as VP and Treasurer from Martin Rowe. Karen brings considerable gifts and experience to the role. She is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she promotes the university’s research, scholarly, and creative activities. An attorney by training, she has supported the arts since she first interned at the City Gallery of Contemporary Art in Raleigh, NC and was chair of the board of The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, NC. More recently, she served on the board of the Dairy Arts Center, including in the role of treasurer.
