Robbie Judkins
Creativity, 2015, Grantee Link >Robbie Judkins is a sound artist and musician with a focus on performance, improvisation, composition, and audio-visual work. His work also explores political issues, particularly animal rights and advocacy. He is the creator of and performer in two Animals Sounds works on Resonance FM. Resonance FM is the world’s first art radio station, established in London in 2007. This grant was given to fund the creation of six more hour-long episodes in the series. These programs included a mixture of guest speakers, sound art, field recordings, and selections of experimental music with animal themes.
Robbie’s experimental music is kin to the work of past and recent grantees such as Keane Southard, Emily Doolittle, David Anderegg, and Michal Harren. They all care about and are inspired by their nonhuman fellows to the extent of composing musical pieces that celebrate their lives.
