Kelsi Nagy
Kelsi Nagy received a grant from CAF to pursue research on the popularity of bullfighting in Spain following the ban in the Spanish province of Catalonia. The result was “World Cow Girl,” a blog about cattle, culture, and other life adventures. This blog then led to her Ph.D. research, which examined urban dairy farming in Mysore, Karnataka, the lives and welfare of these cattle, and their consumption of plastic pollution. Kelsi was the co-editor (with Phillip David Johnson III) of Trash Animals: How We Live With Nature’s Filthy, Feral Invasive and Unwanted Creatures (2013), was an associate fellow at the Oxford Center for Animal Ethics, and received her doctorate from the University of Oxford in the School of Geography and the Environment. She is currently an instructor in Animal Ethics and Philosophy at Colorado State University.
