Cyrus Mejia
Cyrus Mejía is a contemporary artist and co-founder of Best Friends Animal Society. Cyrus believes art is activism, grabbing attention and shining light into darkness. His art reflects the ideals of kindness and compassion while shining a light on speciesism, ignorance, and cruelty. Cyrus lives and works in Kanab, Utah, home of Best Friends, with his wife and their family of dogs and cats. Cyrus’ work continues to reflect his passion for the animals and the Earth, and his message is a cri de coeur for compassion and kindness. His artwork can be found in both private and public collections. CAF gave Cyrus three grants to continue his artistry, and his art adorns the 2017 Compassion Arts and Culture & Animals Foundation Festival program.
