Julia Feliz
Research, 2023, Grantee Link >Julia Feliz is an author, illustrator, activist, editor, and founder of Sanctuary Publishers, which has published such culturally significant titles as Veganism of Color: Decentering Whiteness and Consistently Fighting Nonhuman and Human Oppression and Queer and Trans Voices: Achieving Liberation Through Consistent Anti-Oppression. CAF awarded Julia a grant for “Community Vegan Outreach,” a website and book that will provide wisdom from and advice to all those who are unable to take part in traditional forms of activism or are unable to access vegan resources—especially within communities where veganism isn’t yet popular. The aim is to push us as a society closer to non-human animal liberation. Julia hosts several websites that showcase the range and depth of work, stemming from several decades of work on behalf of social justice, gender nonconforming individuals, veganism, anti-speciesism, disability rights, and anti-racism: Consistent Anti-Oppression, New Pride Flag, Veganism of Color, and Neuroablism. Julia lives in Florida.
