Animals Agenda CoversFor almost a quarter of a century, from its first issue in Winter 1979/80 to its last in March/April 2002, The Animals’ Agenda magazine held a mirror up to the animal advocacy movement, and presented in an informative and accessible format the means by which humans both harmed and helped animals. In 157 issues, Agenda explored factory farming, vivisection, and the use of animals in entertainment, clothing, and for labor. It profiled rescuers, sanctuaries, thought leaders, and ordinary activists. It challenged advocates to think about their commitments and educated the general public.

As a means of bringing the wealth of information contained in Agenda’s pages to scholars, activists, and interested readers, the Culture & Animals Foundation (CAF) in collaboration with the Animal Rights and Animal Welfare Archives at North Carolina State University Libraries wishes to digitize and make freely available online all 157 issues. Our model is The Vegan Society’s digitization of The Vegan magazine.

To do this, CAF needs to raise $4000, which amounts to roughly 84 cents per page.
