David Anderegg
David Anderegg is a psychotherapist and composer based in western Massachusetts. CAF gave him a grant to pay for studio time and musicians to make a recording of The Beasts, an hour-long chamber opera about “man and his companion animals.” The opera, which was performed several times, was recorded and can be found here and here.
David’s opera is kin to the work of recent grantees such as Keane Southard, Emily Doolittle, Michael Harren, and Robbie Judkins. They all care about and are inspired by their nonhuman fellows to the extent of composing musical pieces that celebrate their lives.
