“La Musée du Carnisme” (Museum of Carnism), for which Amarillo Ngozi was awarded a CAF grant, is a digital museum dedicated to exploring and educating about the hidden realities of carnism—the belief system that justifies animal exploitation for food and other uses. This project aims to create a compelling online platform where users can experience immersive 3D environments, interactive exhibits, and educational materials that challenge conventional views of carnism, by blending art, architecture, and vegan ethics.

Carnism (a term developed by social psychologist and author Melanie Joy) is a largely invisible belief system that normalizes animal exploitation. Amarillo feels there is a lack of accessible, engaging educational resources that challenge this system and provide a space for people to reflect on its ethical implications. La Musée du Carnisme aims to fill this gap by offering a digital platform where visitors can engage with interactive exhibits, learn about carnism’s history, and explore alternatives rooted in compassion and sustainability. The project aims to address this critical need by educating the public in a way that is both thought-provoking and transformative. By creating a space for reflection and education, the museum will help visitors understand the impact of carnism on animals, humans, and the planet, while offering a hopeful vision for change.
